Carlton Landing Seeks Full-Time Town Administrator

Oklahoma Municipal Management Services (OMMS) has been asked to assist the Town of Carlton Landing, Oklahoma, with their recruitment of a full-time Town Administrator.  Carlton Landing was incorporated in 2013 and currently consists of 178 households.  Carlton Landing is also home to Lake Eufaula, the largest-capacity lake in Oklahoma, with a surface area of 102,000 acres and 600 miles of shoreline.  The selected professional must excel at relationship management, demonstrating a management style that is motivational, responsive, open, inclusive and accessible. The individual will cultivate a welcoming, trusted and effective service culture that Town constituents can rely on and expect. Creativity, dependability, honesty, integrity, decency, and sound judgment will be evident attributes. The ideal candidate will possess thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and organizational attributes unique to municipal corporations, including a knowledge of government fund accounting and budgeting practices. Candidates with proficiency in general budget management combined with the management of outside professional teams/expert consultants will receive equal consideration.  This professional will also have the ability to prepare and present, both orally and in writing, comprehensive reports and data. This individual must work effectively with all staff levels, public officials, contractors, and the general public and to efficiently use computer applications, such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database systems; and to assess and manage risk. The Town of Carlton Landing has an aggressive development plan executed through general bonds, tax increment finance (TIF) funding, and general tax revenues. This professional will have the primary responsibility of coordinating Town development activities and providing or overseeing project management to a group of contractors engaged in planning, development, maintenance and construction projects. The ability to work with finance teams and these implementation teams with a coordinated, well-managed process is a high priority for this position.
