TULSA, OK – Oklahoma Municipal Management Services (OMMS) hires Tamera Johnson to work part-time on human resources and database management, providing added value to cities and towns across Oklahoma.

Steve Whitlock, OMMS Executive Director, met with Johnson in November; she begins on December 19, 2018. Johnson will assist with compilation of data, execute contact with member cities and provide value-added services to OMMS member cities and towns.

“We are thrilled to bring Tamera on board,” says Whitlock. “She brings decades of experience in human resources and business management, as well as nearly 20 years of municipal experience in Oklahoma.”

Johnson served as Deputy Clerk for the City of Woodward in 2001 and has since served as the Human Resources Director for the City of Shawnee. As a certified HR professional, Johnson is committed to advancing the profession, and oversaw all employment, benefits, retirement and union negotiations during her tenure.

“It is with great excitement that I accept the position with OMMS,” says Johnson. “I think that this organization will grow and develop into something much greater than anyone has yet imagined, and I am honored to be on the ground floor of it.”

OMMS is an interlocal cooperative organization in which many Oklahoma cities come together to offer management assistance and services to cities and towns across the state. For more information, visit
